draft (parents Quakers) and so he served as a doctor in rural Cambodia
for two years.
Grew up in Irvington-on-Hudson, NY with her 3 half brothers. (Her
half-sister Leigh was already grown and on her own.) Raised mostly by
her mother, she studied violin and played frequently at church services.
Prep school at Northfield-Mt. Hermon, and attended Lake Forest College
before graduating from Columbia University, School of General Studies.
Met husband Mike at a friend's wedding in New York City. First date was
spent playing squash at CU.
She is a fit runner. Light complexion, Strawberry blonde hair --
blushes easily.

Nick and Beatrice changed their name from Bubulj to Bradlee in November
1963.
At that time Nick was a science teacher in Streetsboro Ohio and Betrice
was at Kent State.
When asked later why they Chose the Bradlee spelling they stated that it
was somewhat close
the way Bubulj was pronounced and they chose the EE spelling.
They stated that sorta knew of Ben Bradlee the writer, and liked the
unique spelling.

They lived near Mercersburg Franklin Co PA after they were married until
1820 when they rented a farm in Bedford Co.
In 1835 they purchased a farm in Bedford Co where they lived over 30
years.
David was a farmer and carpenter and built a barn for his son Michael
near Mercersburg about 1840.
As of 1921 the farm was stilled owned by Michael's grandson Samuel.
Shortly after the death of his wife David purchased a farm in Cederville
Allen Co Indiana where he lived until
he moved to Naperville to live with his son Michael in 1869.
In 1872 he was run down and killed by a railroad train in Naperville
while returning home from a visit to his other sons
David and Fredrick in Corydon, Iowa.
